About The Platinum Trio
Meet Ashley Ochs, MA, CCLS, GC-C
I create practical, developmentally appropriate resources for families and professionals supporting children through difficult experiences, as well as educational tools for Child Life students and professionals strengthening their knowledge and practice.
My work centers on two connected goals: helping adults feel more prepared to support children through serious illness, medical experiences, dying, death, grief, and other emotionally challenging situations, and helping Child Life students and professionals build the knowledge and confidence needed to support children and families.
I have been a Certified Child Life Specialist since 2008 and a Certified Grief Counselor since 2018. For more than 18 years, I have supported children and families through medical experiences, serious illness, dying, death, grief, and other difficult life experiences.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Child Development with a minor in Spanish and a Master of Arts in Psychology. My education, professional experience, and lived experience shape the compassionate, developmentally appropriate approach behind the resources I create.
The Story Behind The Platinum Trio
I established The Platinum Trio to support and empower families and professionals during difficult moments with children—from everyday emotional concerns to serious illness, dying, death, and grief. Through compassionate, developmentally appropriate resources, I hope to help children express emotions, understand difficult experiences, ask questions, and feel supported through honest and gentle communication.
As The Platinum Trio has evolved, that same purpose has expanded to include resources for Child Life students and professionals. Strong support for children begins with adults and professionals who feel prepared, informed, and confident in the care they provide.
The name The Platinum Trio carries deep personal meaning for me. Platinum represents growth, transformation, strength, and wisdom. Trio honors my three angel babies and my three living children—reflecting loss and life, grief and hope, and the heart behind this work.
My faith in God is at the center of my life and this mission. He has carried me through seasons of grief, loss, and uncertainty, and I believe He has called and equipped me to walk alongside families through some of life’s most difficult moments. My prayer is that these resources help children and the adults who care for them feel understood, supported, and less alone.
